2006

death
finally came
t0 her mum
after an entire year

birth
another year
one more hope
to better each other

sickness
cannot recognise
what is wrong
they wonder the cause

pain
often not
come and go
the body that weakens

joy
second conceived
eight more months
a great anticipation indeed

loneliness
by oneself
due to pride
as well as revengeful

meaning
we seek
hope to find
an answer at least

love
changes all
give and take
give more than take

She

A million stabs
My heart bleeds
Same old thing
Never cease

Think back
Beauty appeals
Really lasting
Character prevails

Turn back clock
Changed everything
Regret
Swallow it

Blown to pieces
Everyday
Senseless behaviour
Ridiculous ways

Faith betrayed
Action stinks
Drifted away
Who knows where

Given too much
Appreciated little
Sad to say
What to do

No joy
No hope
No choice
No words

Other Blogs

Read some other blogs recently. Quite facinating. All kinds of blogs on all kinds of content. I am more interested in blogs about thoughts and how the person is going through life.

There is one I especially enjoyed. It had very nice and meaningful poems. Real feelings that I can identify when I was going through love and lost - those days. This person unfortunately had the relationship last for only 6 months. There were many previous relationships this person went through and stopped.

Seems that there are few lasting ones these days. Imagine, it took this person a long time to decide that so and so is the right one, and they were pretty sure they are meant for each other. But alas, it did not last. I sensed that they were not really spending alot of time together and they have very strong friendship still with their old friends.

Maybe, that is the cause. From the poem, looks like there was a third party.

Anyway, to tell you the truth, diamonds do have a very special power over ladies. Watch the change in attitude after she received it.

Eastern Lightning

The cult group in China, originating in Henan province. A few web sites has detailed information on the teaching and methods of this cult group. They supposedly use torture, lure, lies, bribery, etc to get Christians to submit to their teaching. They claim that only those who believe in the female messiah will get forgiveness for their sins. The new age is the age of the kingdom.

End time prophesy on false prophets, earthquakes, wars, are being realised over and over again. When is the Lord returning?

Can you imagine if the Eastern Lightning sets up shop in Singapore. I am sure many will be brainwashed to join them. Singaporeans are so protected, and so well regulated. When you read about such things in China, you cannot imagine how little protection the people have. Imagine being forced to join the group. If you don't, they will break your hands and legs, and set fire to your homes. In Singapore, we would surely report to the police, complain to MP, etc.

Sometimes, I worry for the children. If they are not street smart, they will be easy prey to such groups. When we overprotect them, they will grow up truly innocent and dreaming of all things nice.

The harshness of the world and reality of life needs to be explained to them. Take time to slowly educate them on some of the realities of life. They need to be informed.

Causeway Jam

Who likes to be caught in a traffic jam? Nobody in the correct mind.

Today, over radio, there is this newstalk on the Causeway jam. It is a perpetual thing, and worst, driven by lack of counters opened to clear the cars entering our city. Reason for the slowness - security. I mean, security is of course necessary. But, is there a priority also to clear the traffic faster? What is the goal of the authority anyway?

In corporate world, there is always a goal set and measurements made to assess whether you are making the goal. If not, you find the cause and fix it.

Obviously, the goal for no. of cars in the jam is either not aggressive, ie. people complaining of being in the jam for 2 hours as a norm, or that there is no goal at all! No goal for efficient Singapore? That is strange.

The Causeway is designed to be able to handle many cars. But in reality, only a few counters are opened each day to deal with the influx. What is going on? Doesn't anybody in the authority establish what is the waiting time for these cars?

Haven't they heard of queueing theory? Open up some textbooks and you will get immediate formulae on computing no. of counters to open during certain hours based on certain sets of inputs.

The conclusion is that they simply don't bother. Or that it is done with purpose. What purpose? To discourage commuting naturally. Why? Your guess is as good as mine. Money outflow for one. Hopefully, with the public outcry this morning, someone will hear it and do something. You know, when you are caught in the jam, everyone temperature rises and each tries to outsqeeze the other until accidents, road rage, and all kinds of things happen.

I was last at the Causeway in Dec. I was following a lane of cars when this MPV started to try to sneak in. This ruthless and horrible driver really got to my nerve. It does not help that my passengers start giving advise on this and that and that and this. Finally, I let him in but almost ended up being squeezed out of the queue myself.

The frustration of the Causeway is real and I hope it will be resolved with clear objectives set and visible operational execution.
